A Special Correspondant writes….

“Last night Glasgow Hawks played against Whitecraigs in a RBS West Region Cup tie winning the game by 31-0 and scoring 5 tries in the process. With a number of Hawks regulars away home on holiday it gave Hawks Joint Head Coach Jimmy Sinclair an opportunity to introduce some of the aspiring young talent currently playing at Old and New Anniesland and four of them came from the Glasgow Academy stable. Kris Boyle was in the starting line up at blind side wing forward and Brodie Clark played on the right wing during the second half. Two more Beatties in the form of brothers Robert and Kenny came on the the final quarter and played centre and back row respectively. All four could be proud of their performances and are real prospects for the future.

Another Glasgow Academical in the side was Grant Strang playing in the centre rather than his usual berth in the back row.
Glasgow Academy, Glasgow High School and Kelvinside Academy are once more proving to be valuable nurseries for Hawks. Chris Barnes who played for High school last season was also in the side playing at tight head.”
